Football Season

So it's been a while since I've posted. I'm such a slacker, but I've been rather busy so that's a good excuse. As you can see from the photo I decided to grow a goatee and a little beard too, tell me how it looks :P School started the first week of August, and so did football season. It's in the 5th week now and we just won our 4th game, we're 4-0 right now and ranked in the top ten state wide.

School is going rather well. I'm taking Spanish 2, AP English Lit., Dual Credit pre-calc/baby calc, drama, journalism, and football. The classes aren't too tough but I'll definitely learn a lot and my senior year will be fantastic. There are only 3 weeks left in the first quater. Talk about fast....Comment if you're reading I'd appreciate it. Vaya con Dios Posted by Picasa

La Familia de Alvarez Molar

Above is one of the families for which we built houses. They were the most freely giving people I've ever met. As you can see from the photo they are very excited (Those are tears of joy and utter love). This family had been previously sleeping on the floor without any sort of bedding. And now, thanks to God's work through us, they have a house with a bed and even a stove (The woman cooked her food over a fire in the backyard). My friend Conner Ladd and I will be returning to Mexico next year and hopefully the year after that we will be spending 8 weeks in Mexico as summer workers which sounds amazing. Missions Trip To Mexico

Well at left is a picture of the group that went to Reynosa, Mexico (A town on the border of Texas and Mexico) for a house building project and VBS. I expected hard work - I got a lot more than that.

Even though I've only had one year of Spanish I'm very close to fluent. I practice Spanish all the time (In part because I have a significant other who is bilingual in Spanish and English..anyways). I was the designated "translator" for our site. I spoke to the lady about where she wanted her house and the doors and window. After that I engaged in talking to all the kids and families I could. The greatest thing about our trip was the acceptance from the people, and the utter altruism they showed towards us. We had one lady who cooked for us EVERY single day. These people didn't have any money - NONE. This family slept on a dirt floor. But every day they cooked food for us and loved us. It was truly an amazing trip. If you'd like to ask me questions about the trip or just talk don't hesitate to comment here or e-mail me @ benthelefty@bellsouth.net. As always thanks for reading. Vas con Dios. Posted by Picasa

A Month At Union

Dear readers,
Sorry once again for the very long delay. I just didn't make my blog a priority. For the month of June I've been at Union University for college. I'm taking Statistics and Probability and Public Communications, as well as a Guitar Elective course. I am doing well in all my classes but that isn't what makes it fun. College is about hanging out and doing crazy stuff. Like tonight for instance. I'm pulling an all nighter as I just finished a speech and worked on the outline. It's 5:30 right now and I have class in abotu two hours. Check out the photos and if you have any questions e-mail me :)

Free iPods? No Way!

Well it's been a little while since I've written and I'm sorry. I hate to say I've been busy because that's like the biggest excuse but its the truth :/ With school, tennis, the play, traveling to Pennsylvania, and other various things I've skipped out on my Blog people. Sorry guys I'm a failure :(

Ok enough bashing myself :) At right is a picture of me with a 30gb Video iPod. I didn't spend $300 on it, I got it for free. Free? Yes, free. Ok so nothing is "free." Well think again. I'll tell you how to get your own free stuff right here. It takes a little effort and help from your friends and family but you can do it :)

For the skeptical readers, check out this URL for how the site works and how it's not a scheme. www.videopimp.org/freegratis/techtvfreegratis3.mpg

There ya go you know how it works. Now all you gotta do is sign up and get some friends, also. Here's the link to a great site: www.flashipods4free.com/index.php?ref=12413 All you have to do is follow the instructions on sign up (e-mail, password, address), then complete an offer (Stamps.com, AOL are examples of free offers that last a month). Then you send some friends your link and get them to do the same (AOL, Stamps.com offer). After you get your 5 friends signed up then you request approval, and within the week of being accepted your brand new iPod Video is at the door. Isn't free great? E-mail me at benthelefty@bellsouth.net with any questions. As always thanks for reading :-) Posted by Picasa

Choir Tour '06 - A Trip To NYC

At right is a picture of Times Square, the internationally known location in downtown New York City. I was there over spring break with a group of 113 other people from Cumberland Presbyterian Church and the Youth Choir. Obviously NYC was the "lure" of the trip, but we also experienced going to a soup kitchen, driving through Lancaster County (Amish Country) and playing in all locations from Knoxville to New Brunswick.

If anyone has been to NYC then I'm sure they went to China Town, probably one of the biggest locations for knock off jewelry, Rolexes, Oakleys, and other assorted "treasures." Well I didn't get to experience the "back-door purchases" of Louis Vitton, Chanel, Prada, Coach or Dior Purses, but I did get to pick up a Rolex, "Stolex" off of a guy and a pair of Oakley sunglasses, "Foakleys."

I have to say I cling to the big city scene like a tick to a dog's back. It's just natural. I love the bustle and frenzy of everyone doing their own thing. I liked how everyone had their iPods out and listening to them, minding their own business looking important and walking through the city. What a great trip..only we were back in school the day after we got back :) Thanks for reading - as always Enjoy! Posted by Picasa

A Taste Of Chaos

I know it's been like a year since i've last posted and I'm sorry. The easy way out of saying "Gee I've been busy" comes to mind but that't no excuse! My faithful readers (If I have any of those) deserve at least a once in a blue moon post from me! So here are some pictures from "Taste Of Chaos" tour that I went to Solo in St. Charles (Right outside of St. Louis, MO). It was a super wild concert. The pictures are of the band As I Lay Dying, one of the Christian groups on a almost complete secular tour.

The guys were just like one of my friends when I talked with them. They were friendly, shook my hand and were interested in me. It makes me happy to know that I like a band that is friendly in real life (Even though the screamed lyrics sound like they're angry :P)

Be sure to watch the music video of As I Lay Dying by clicking the link here --> http://www.videocure.com/music-video-code/a/d761c100309ec839483f45d7b6abaee4.asx .
